Fill the Foxhole is the brainchild of Ralph (Boomer) and Alice Culver. Now spearheaded by the Instructors and Apprentices of Plumbers, Steamfitters, and Service Technicians of Local 440. Since 2013, care packages have been shipped each year to troops during the Christmas season, in appreciation of their sacrifice and dedication.
In 2018, a goal of 500 packages was reached. Volunteers packed and shipped the care packages that include snacks, personal hygiene items, and letters of appreciation from grade school children. This year the Local 440 and their partners strive to surpass that goal, reaching as many men and women in service as we can that are not able to be with their loved ones through the holidays, whether stateside or abroad. The Local 440 and their partners raise funds throughout the year through raffles, donations, golf tournaments, card tournaments, and other events to support this effort. All monetary donations go to the creation and shipping of the care packages to our troops.
Please check out this amazing video from Fill the Foxhole “Packing the Boxes” Day 2019. Fill the Foxhole sent out over 650 boxes this year with the help of all our volunteers, donations, and sponsors! Thank you for making this all possible!
